March 2009 Eroge Releases

March 3, 2009 at 12:59 am 4 comments

This month is a clear example of why eroge backlogs always increase. Due to some delays by some companies, there are as many as ten solid games coming out in March. At the top of the list is UnisonShift’s Flyable Heart and Favorite/Crossnet’s Hoshizora no Memoria. Other notables include F&C’s Canvas3, Lapis lazuli’s Areas and Giga’s Baldr Sky. There’s a lot of great OPs this time around. I have no idea how I’m going to find time since I’m still working at Shin Koihime Musou and Tapestry (and I still haven’t started Like a Butler).

Note: This post contains mature content. All links will be 18+. Most videos should be relatively clean.

Flyable Heart

Company: ユニゾンシフト:ブロッサム (UnisonShift Blossom)
Game site: Flyable Heart
Release date: March 19, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from January. My delicious fryable heart is finally here! All the characters are moe! The art is beautiful and the story sounds cute! Give it to me now!!!

Canvas3 ~Hakugin no Portrait~

Company: F&C ・FC01
Game site: Canvas3~白銀のポートレート~
Release date: March 20, 2009
Comments: Ok, I admit it. I’m a Canvas fan. This series has become quite popular for F&C, similar to Pia Carrot e Youkoso! in the ’90s. It gives a similar vibe from the previous games and it’s set in the same school. The song in the OP is nice, although the characters don’t seem that captivating at first glance. I’m sure that will change as you play the game. I hope that characters from past games will make cameos.

W.L.O. Sekai Renai Kikou

Company: あかべぇそふとつぅ (AKABEi SOFT2)
Game site: W.L.O. 世界恋愛機構
Release date: March 26, 2009
Comments: The plot for this game revolves around something called the World Love Organization (WLO). There’s also another group called Nothing Or All (NOA). Ya… this is pretty whacky stuff. I’ve heard decent reviews from the demo, so it shouldn’t be bad. However, there’s just too many better ones this month.

Areas ~Sora ni Utsusu Kimi to no Sekai~

Company: Lapis lazuli
Game site: Areas~空に映すキミとのセカイ~
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: Lapis lazuli should’ve released this in February when there wasn’t many good titles. The art is definitely cute, but the plot seems to be a bit unoriginal. Those eyes are so big.

BALDR SKY Dive1 “Lost Memory”

Company: 戯画 (Giga)
Game site: BALDR SKY Dive1 “Lost Memory”
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: The latest from the Baldr series, Baldr Sky impressed me a lot with its OP and character design. I like the official website too. For those not familiar with the series, there’s a heavy emphasis on mecha battles, which is why I’ll probably be passing over this one even though I love the character designs (Did I say that already?).

Company: ソフトハウスキャラ (SofthouseChara)
Game site: DAISOUNAN
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: Hmm, a bunch of people stuck on an island fighting for 2 spots on a boat to freedom. A battle royale? Kind of… it’s actually a SLG. The art isn’t really my style, nor have I played SofthouseChara’s games before.

Princess Party

Company: CIRCUS
Game site: Princess Party~プリンセスパーティー~
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: So this is what happens when IOSYS does eroge OPs. Considering how badly Eternal Fantasy did, you’d think Circus would just stick to milking the DC franchise for all it’s worth. I don’t really care much about this one; it seems similar to W.L.O.

Company: Symphony
Game site: Tiara
Release date: March 27, 2009 Delayed to May 29, 2009
Comments: How many times do they intend to delay this…? There’s still no OP.

Company: スプートニク (Sputnik)
Game site: echo.
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: This is Sputnik’s first game. Very interesting OP and decent art. I’m not sure what the plot is about though, other than the appearance of a mysterious girl.

Koko Yori, Haruka -Surrounded sea in the world-

Company: Pleats soft
Game site: ここより、はるか -Surrounded sea in the world-
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: Pleats soft’s first game has quite an impressive OP. The plot is based on fantasy, with angel wings and fairies. I think I’ll probably check it out if I have time.

Sakura Sakura

Company: ハイクオソフト (Haikuo Soft)
Game site: さくらさくら
Release date: March 27, 2009 Delayed to May 29, 2009
Comments: I honestly thought this was released already. It seems Haikuo Soft had delayed this game for over a year now. Not sure what the hold up is, but I always liked their character designs and colouring. Seems like it revolves around a pair of love triangles.

School Five ~Itsutsu no Himitsu no Monogatari~

Company: DisAbel
Game site: すく~るふぁいぶ~五つの秘密の物語~
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from February. Abel Software and its sister companies doesn’t seem to like posting OPs. I will call this ‘ef2′.

Tsun na Kanojo Dere na Kanojo

Company: PeasSoft
Game site: ツンな彼女 デレな彼女
Release date: March 27, 2009 Delayed to April 24, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from January. Not a tsundere fan, but knowing well that all 6 heroines will end up deredere anyway makes me want to play this. Probably will be full of mushy heartwarming stuff and ichaicha.

Boku no Te no Naka no Rakuen

Company: キャラメルBOX (Caramel BOX)
Game site: ボクの手の中の楽園
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: Set in a fantasy world, Bokuraku is a lighthearted affair with loli warrior heroines during a peaceful time. It seems there may be some mystery involved too. Ellinor is cute. I wonder if any of them are traps.

Fukai Kiri no Naka de

Company: カリカチュア (Caricature)
Game site: 深霧の中で…~Fukai Kirino Nakade…~
Release date: March 27, 2009 Delayed to April 3, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from February. As Caricature’s first game, it looks ok, but not spectacular.

Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a shooting star-

Game site: 星空のメモリア -Wish upon a shooting star-
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: I cannot get enough of this OP. It grabs me from the very start. I also love the website with its unique layout for story and characters. I guess Crossnet is back now since Apricot and Favorite both use their site. I think I automatically try out games with promises and wishes in the storyline. All the characters are likeable and can’t say no to twins. I thought Komomo was Kagamin. If Flyable Heart wasn’t coming out this month too, this would be first on my to-get list.

Seiken no Fairies

Company: リトルウィッチ・ベルベット (littlewitch velvet)
Game site: 聖剣のフェアリース
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: The genre of this game is officially listed as 清純可憐な少女騎士をHで育てる女学院ADV. In other words, you’re a teacher and you’re using sex as a the method of training. No wonder I couldn’t find any good non-H CGs for this post. It’s a shame because the OP and art are nice. French has never looked this cool.

Zettai Ryouiki!

Company: Rio
Game site: 絶対領域っ!
Release date: March 27, 2009
Comments: This is Rio’s first game and it’s definitely marketing a specific moe trait… zettai ryouiki. There’s supposedly a plot or something, but it’s hard to notice it when half the OP and cover show off that absolute territory. Sakura is really cute for an otaku girl. I’m worried about the sirens.

I accidentally deleted this post, so I had to spend half an hour retrieving it from cache and fixing it. Comments have been wiped though.

And play Flyable Heart if you haven’t already.
