Fall Nendoroid Preview

A scan from a hobby magazine reveals a couple of upcoming nendoroids. With a new line of petit nendoroids and normal nendoroids, there’s more reasons for me to go without food x_x Shown above is a set of petit nendoroids from the Vocaloid series. For those who never got the chance to purchase the many variations of the Miku nendoroid, here’s a good chance to grab your own Miku and more. As I already have two Miku nendoroids (The normal, and Wonderfest version) and a Kagamine Rin nendoroid, this purchase isn’t exactly prioritized highly on my list of stuff to get. But in the long run, adding more to my army of petit nendoroids is heavily tempting me …

Other than that, two Type-Moon nendoroids of Ryougi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai) and Canaan (Canaan) seem to be ready for a fall release as well. And to milk the franchise even further, we get a petit set of of Death Note nendoroids. Seeing that most of the cast depicted in the set has already been released in a normal sized nendoroid forms, we’re seeing a lot of repeat nendoroids in petit form. Seeing that I do not own even one of the original Death Note nendoroids, this does not affect me at all as this gives me a chance to grab some more variety in my nendoroid collection ^_^ I can’t wait to grab some more petit nendoroids including Churuya-san (Haruhi) above. But with the rate they’re releasing nendoroids, we’ll probably see a nendoroid version of everyone’s favorite anime/game characters.

Black Rock Shooter

Good Smile Company is releasing a 1/8 PVC figure of huke氏’s Black Rock Shooter, which was featured in ryo’s Miku song of the same name. It stands 290mm tall and will be released on August 31st with a price tag of 9800 yen. While I’m not a huge fan of the song, the figure stays true to the character design.  I especially like the stand.

Here’s the original Miku song from last year.

Mini-Donkey as usual presenting the new arrivals

Mini-Donkey as usual presenting the new arrivals

Nemuiwanko here! Nendoroids have arrived and wondering how this new year will turn out. I hope everyone is doing well. I’m going to have to post more now but with my recent hard drive problems and WoW, that has kept me occupied o_o;  I don’t have an awesome list of resolutions like Micchi-senpai but I hope to find a job and fix my sleeping habits! And so many games to finish… Umineko ;___________; But that’s it for now.

ちょうちょ sings “Hajimete no Koi ga Owaru Toki” by ryo (illust. by 三輪士郎)

I listened to the original version by ryo a few days ago when it came out on December 12th, but I wasn’t that impressed with the rendering of Miku’s voice. I thought it was a little high and awkward. The song itself is alright, about the ending of a first love. However, today I came across upon a version with ちょうちょ singing it and I love her voice. I feel that it feels the song really well. The only thing that I thought wasn’t that nice was the 「あのねー」, which I’m assuming is because she wanted it to sound spoken instead of sung. It is quite popular on Niconico for people to sing popular songs, the most notable one being “Melt”.

【手書き】初音ミクの消失-DEAD END-【PV】

“Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu” by cosMo

One of the most recognized Vocaloid songs, cosMo’s “Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu” details Miku’s memories during a final farewell. What makes it particularly memorable is making Miku sing extremely fast. This particular PV was created using GIFs every 0.1s for a 10FPS. The art is really nice and Miku is cute. The decision to use mostly greyscale was a good decision. My favourite parts include the large eighth note composed of 0’s and 1’s, as well as the part in which Miku is gradually disappearing into a black cloud.

“Marginal” by OSTER (illust. by はるよ, animation by baker)

The latest song by OSTER is also featured on the Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- website. While I’m not familiar with はるよさん’s art, baker is definitely a name I’ve seen before. He’s the creator of popular classic songs ‘サウンド’ (Sound) and ‘celluloid’, as well as a famous arranger of other artists’ songs, as shown by Voc@loid Night v2 and Super Deadball Beat. “Marginal” isn’t the first joint project between OSTER and baker. The first was “Dreaming Leaf”. As expected from OSTER, I like this song, although it’s not among my favourites, it’s still nice to listen to. While the art is nice, it felt a bit re-used from scene to scene. For a Miku song, surprisingly it doesn’t include any Miku pictures… not that I’m complaining.

PSP Hatsune Miku model dances on stage to “Miracle Paint”

An update from the upcoming Hatsune Miku game for PSP from Sega! Here’s a sample of the in-game play with my favourite song “Miracle Paint” by OSTER project. It looks awesome and I love how they kept the original PV by fla3 in the background. Checking through the official site, I’ve also noticed that Rin and Len will also be in the game! Rin looks sooooo cute!!! >w<

I wish I could play it, but I don’t have a PSP…

“Innocence” by KazuP (PV by axties)

Some of you will definitely recognize this song. “Innocence” is a popular song by KazuP from last year, released December 21, 2007. Recently, a 3D PV of this classic was posted on Niconico by axtiesさん. He’s been working 2-3 hours day on this PV for a year and the results definitely show. This definitely looks impressive and is one of the best PVs I’ve seen to date.
