May 2019 Eroge Releases

While CIRCUS is releasing D.C.4 ~Da Capo 4~, the more anticipated titles this month are Yumemiru’s Girls Book Maker -Shiawase no Libretto- and Azurite’s Tamayura Mirai. Even though the Clochette game was delayed a couple months, there’s still a lot of balloons left this month. If you want both balloons and flat chests, Parasol’s Renran Spirichu will satisfy your needs.

Definitely a Micchi month. Filled with charage and not much else, so go into May thinking about which heroine you want rather than the story you want to read.

April 2019 Eroge Releases

The last month of releases in the Heisei era can be seen as the direction that eroge is headed. Most of the titles are low-priced single-heroine games, such as Palette’s 9-nine- Haruiro Harukoi Harunokaze and Campus’s Koioto Se Piace. Frontwing’s Grisaia: Phantom Trigger series is up to volume 5.5 and 6. There are still some intriguing titles like Minato Carnival’s Waka-sama no Zasuru Sekai and SILKY’s PLUS’s Kanzume Shoujo no Shuumatsu Sekai. The next month seems a bit more solid, so enjoy this small batch before moving on to bigger and possibly better things.

Note: Zen hasn’t added his comments yet since I basically left him with no time to do so, so you might see the post updated at a later time. Sorry for the delay and look forward to the May post!

April is the month of Childhood friends it seems with three single heroine games all based around those stalkers. Other than the childhood friends a bunch of sequels and even some yuri leaving us with very few actual complete games this month. A good thing given the delays for the post. For that I apologize at the extra week it was delayed for on my part. This was mostly caused by how I go about writing my part. I like to set aside a good few hours to just sit down and do it all in one sitting. Which can sometimes make it hard to find the time to do that. So again apologies.

March 2019 Eroge Releases

Do you believe in angels? Maybe you might meet one in Whirlpool’s pieces/Wataridori no Somnium. For something a little more normal, how about GIGA’s Aonatsu Line or PULLTOP’s Sakurairo, Mau Koro ni? Purple Software also has a title that revolves around a mysterious social game called Realive. The story might remind you of another game where an app suddenly appears on your smartphone…

Another month has come and gone. Emphasis on the gone this time. A few interesting games this month though nothing revolutionary. Unless you count elves raping orcs that is.

February 2019 Eroge Releases

Has it really been that long since Happiness! and SHUFFLE! came out? Windmill’s Happiness! 2 Sakura Celebration and Navel’s SPIRAL!! are apparently sequels, even though there are major differences. If you’re in the mood for RPGS, the much anticipated Evenicle 2 from ALICESOFT is here, along with Astronauts Sirius’ Guildmaster. feng’s Yume to Iro de Dekiteiru, featuring art by karory, has finally went master-up after countless years, while SAGA PLANETS has made their first fandisc in a while with Kin’iro Loveriche -Golden Time-. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a pretty good month.

Not a particularly impressive month. We have a choice between spiritual successors, RPGs, fandisks, and single heroine games. I guess there is Feng’s new game, but frankly I wouldn’t get my hopes up for it. Who knows though, in the end anything can happen and maybe, just maybe one or even better more than one of the games will turn out being something truly special.

January 2019 Eroge Releases

The new year starts stronger than how the last one ended, so let’s hope for a better 2019! FAVORITE’s Sakura, Moyu. -as the Night’s, Reincarnation- and minori’s Sono Hi no Kemono ni wa, are big-name titles that should appeal to many. For something a little more romance-based, why not check out SMEE’s Sugar*Style or GIGA’s love clear? Hope you all enjoy them!

By the standards these days this is a rather good month. Definitely better than the last few. Which is nice to see, maybe 2019 will be a better year for eroge. Not that I minded 2018 being lackluster as there were plenty of regular games worth playing instead.

December 2018 Eroge Releases

It’s the last month of the year and it seems like most companies have already stopped working since there’s only a handful of games coming out. However, Uguisu Kagura’s Sora ni Kizanda Parallelogram and Libido Soft’s Hinekuremono no Gakuen Seishun Monogatari ~Ore to Kanojo no Reversible~ are decent choices for drama and comedy, respectively, so there should be games to keep you entertained when you’re tired of being festive and a riajuu.

As bad as it feels to say this, I kind of prefer a month of really bad releases. I’m not saying this month isn’t bad, just it’s boring bad. The absolute worst kind of bad is the type that inspires apathy. Which has sadly become much more common as the vast majority of eroge are mostly copy paste jobs with minor changes to avoid the teacher calling them out on cheating.

November 2018 Eroge Releases

It may be a little early for Christmas, but there’s already Cabbage Soft’s Amazing Grace -What color is your attribute?-, where the month of December keeps repeating for some reason. Eushully’s latest title Fuukan no Grasesta features a rags-to-riches story, while Argonauts’ Uchi no Imouto is bound to please fellow imouto lovers out there.

Thank god it’s not Christmas, or this month would have been eroge coal. Well perhaps a few might still reach diamond-hood, but nothing practically guaranteed to be above average. I am praying that Eushully will land a hit with their gameplay this time in the hopes of that whole genre improving.

October 2018 Eroge Releases

Would you like to play God? How about a trial version where you can stop time and do almost anything you wish… but only for five minutes? If so, then you should check out Hulotte’s Deatte 5fun wa Ore no Mono! Jikan Teishi na Atropos. If you’re interested in chuuni battles, Nameless’s Deep One would be right up your alley!

Rather than playing god or stopping time I would like to request some actual releases this month, thanks. Well not saying I wouldn’t be willing to play god given the choice though.

September 2018 Eroge Releases

There’s a lot of low-priced games this month and even those that are the usual length are more character-focused than heavy on story. MadoSoft’s Raspberry Cube is the most prominent of the bunch, but AkabeiSoft3’s CharaBration! ~Otome wa Koishite Chara Bureru~ might be worth a look as well. It should be a pretty crazy month.

Interesting month this September. While there are few, if any games that could be considered a major release there is a surprising degree of competence shown this month. I can only hope those games that were competently assembled do well enough to perhaps prod the entire industry in a more positive direction.

August 2018 Eroge Releases

I was a bit worried that there wouldn’t be enough games to make a post for August, but luckily there were some delays. Laplacian’s Mirai Radio to Jinkoubato is the most promising title this month, but I’ll probably enjoy being a teddy bear in KATE’s Koi wa Mofumofu! Love Me Teddy. It’s best to spend this time clearing your backlog, reading C94 doujins, or going out for some fresh air.

I don’t know if I should feel happy or sad for such a month. On the plus side there isn’t much bad one could say about it as there isn’t much at all period. On the other hand however there is little good to say about it also as well there’s once again nothing there. Either way I can at least be glad for a month that was easy to write for.
