A Moment of Silence

In a surprise announcement, Coffee Kizoku has left Noesis after the release of their latest work, Ame Koi. He is planning to be a freelance illustrator and indicated that his exit wasn’t caused by any disagreements. With the loss of their star illustrator, Noesis has closed down.

HexenHaus‘s next game, Lautes Alltags -Herrenlose Katze und Teehaus-, will be using the E-mote system. It seems to be a popular thing to do nowadays.

Other new titles announced this week include:

AkabeiSoft2Boku no Hitori Sensou
ChienGakuen Butou no Folklore

Debonosu Works has acquired Studio e.go! which had been closed since 2009, thereby acquiring the rights to the games which they had helped produce before they left to found Debonosu. Along with this announcement, they revealed that they are remaking the beginning of the Kagura series, Natsu Kagura (in December), along with revamping Debonosu’s debut work, Kagura Douchuuki Sou, in widescreen this October.

Shizuku won the Sengoku Koihime tsukimi chara poll and will get a wallpaper on September 8th. Dragon lord Julia won the VenusBlood -HYPNO- chara poll.

Enterbrain has a pair of books hitting the shelf on September 19th: the Tenbin no La DEA. perfect guidebook and the Daito DS & Houkago Shippo Days visual fan book.

The Daito DS & Houkago Shippo Days OST and C:drive’s 2-disc saimin series VOCAL MEMORIES come out on August 29th. The soundtrack for Chuable Soft’s upcoming title Byakko will be out on the same day, September 26th.

Not much news this week since it’s C86. It’d be nice if my friend was able to grab some things for me, but I don’t have high hopes. To all the soldiers on the battlefield, good luck and may you return safely. With all the C86 info, I only managed to finish Ui and Kana’s routes in Change!. The former was surprisingly romantic, but he clearly abused his ability in the latter. Since there’s a few more trials out for September, I’ll start on them in the upcoming days.

I played Change!, and I mostly enjoyed it ^^. Though I agree that he “misused” his ability in Kana’s route. That image you have up there is probably the main issue that people have with her route.

Though I’m a little surprised that you didn’t dive into Rumia’s route since she seems like your type ;D

    Lastly, AkabeiSoft2 still exists?!?

      I played Rumia’s route first ^o^

      Helped her practice levitation. Heh.

Rumia is the most chuunibyou character I’ve ever seen, but that’s what makes her such a funny and lovable heroine =D

All her chuuni powers are coming to life! I love her a lot XD

That Kana scene…while I like the Henshin/Change series, there’s always some scenes that come across as cruel more so than comedic…great ero though. :P

Yes, AkabeiSoft2 still exists! They’ll probably do more as the main brand since it looks like Taiyou no Ko is on the back burner/MIA.

Whoa, Noesis is closing down just like that? Man, I did not expect this.

Wow, why would a star illustrator of a company like Noesis leave just like that? I’m sure there’s more to the story than what’s publicly available here.

On the other hand, hearing that Debonosu Works (headed by Kazue Yamamoto) reacquired its old Studio e.go! sounds like great news. It could mean that they’ll be able to re-release their old games (like the “Izumo” series), possibly even for English-speaking audiences, given that Kazue Yamamoto visited Anime Expo 2011 along with the VN translation company Mangagamer.

Could you tell me why Kazue Yamamoto left Studio e.go! in the first place?

Although it was never publicly stated, I believe she left due to differences with someone in the company due to the timing (in the middle of the 10th anniversary preparations) and because the majority of the Studio e.go! staff joined her in Debonosu, which was founded mere days afterwards.

Debonosu does intend to re-release old games, mainly in downloadable format via DMM.com.

Thanks for the information. I do hope that Kazue Yamamoto hasn’t forgotten her western fans when it comes to re-releasing her old games.

Most “sudden departures” of the kind you mentioned don’t turn out very well, but I’m glad that after 5 years Studio E’go is back where it belongs.

I try Change! a little and my guess was right that it’s a new level of pervert prank. At least, it’s not a bad nukige and I can see they’re making effort in that game. BGM in Change! is super mediocre. Maybe because I play AstralAir too or not, I decide to not care those BGM.

What a pity, the art in ame koi was superb

They didn’t say, that they closed down. They just put their production on halt for indefinite time, maybe until they’ve found another illustrator, because Coffee Kizoku was their main and only illustrator.

    • 14. Micchi  |  August 27, 2014 at 7:27 pm

All the companies that have went on indefinite leave that I know of haven’t returned, e.g. Littlewitch, Trumple. It’s especially the case if the lead/only illustrator leaves, along with other production staff. I could say they’re just halted indefinitely, but even if they return, it’ll basically be a new company.

What’s the situation with Trumple again? Aren’t they in the middle of being involved in making an anime adaptation for their sole game title Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete? I remember seeing promotional art for that anime adaptation being made by the game’s original two artists, even.
