Micchi’s Ideal Eroge Harem

In light of the harem route in Imopara, I’ve decided to finally stake my claim to those bishoujos that trigger the strongest omochikaeri feeling in me. This harem post has been over a year in the making, as I felt that I hadn’t played nearly enough eroge to construct a list that abides by the restricting rules imposed on it by the gods m3rry. If I didn’t write this up now, then I risk my precious bishoujos being snatched up by all those raving eroge maniacs.

Oh, you wanted to know what the rules are? They’re quite simple, yet cause great difficulties. But one thing we want is to showcase those bishoujos that aren’t as well-known to other people and describe in our ‘words’ why they make our heart go kyun~. It’s White Day after all, so it’s my gift back to my favourite girls. Without further ado, here they are:

1. Harem size is up to six eight bishoujos and one household meido.
2. Only one bishoujo from an eroge unless she is a twin.
3. Eroges with their own anime adaptions are not allowed.
4. Each bishoujo must have her own individual seiyuu.

I know each meister has their own interpretation of the rules, so I’m open to including bishoujos from eroges with anime adaptations if they do not appear in the anime, or if they were not even around when the anime was on air. You’ll know who I’m referring to later in this post. Characters from fandisks are free game if they only appear once and not in the original. Also, anime adaptations include OVAs, as well as H-anime.

Harem lists are subject to change (note how m3rry and Hemi’s lists have vastly changed over the years), so consider this to be the first one. I’m sure some chars will always remain in my top 8+1. My favourites aren’t listed in any particular order as I love them all. Will they all be imoutos?

Ooizumi Mai / Tsukiyoshi Mai
Real Imouto ga Iru Ooizumi-kun no Baai (ALcot Honey Comb)

To be in the ideal eroge harem, you have to be the ideal heroine. Or imouto. Mai is basically the perfect imouto: loves oniichan, innocent and pure, just the right size, amaenbou, cheerful, shows wagamama and jealousy sometimes, and the occasional ecchi moments (heeeeello sukumizu). Of course that’s because she comes from an eroge within an eroge. It also means she says the darnest things because of the reality disconnect.

But what makes Mai stand out among all imoutos is that while originally you think that she came from a game, her ‘soul’ actually comes from the real world (well, as 3D as 3D can be). Mai’s actual name is Tsukiyoshi Mai, a girl whose mother was to marry Ryou’s father… which means she was to become his new imouto. But after living with Ryou and his actual imouto Shiori, she didn’t want to break up their current family, so she decided to ask her mother not to re-marry. I really fell for her ultimately putting his feelings above her own desire to have an oniichan to call her own.

I’ll gladly become her oniichan so she’ll finally get a happy end ^o^

Takanashi Yaya
Clover Point (Meteor)

If you call yourself an imouto fan, you will definitely know Yaya. Yaya is basically the opposite of Mai: you don’t think she’s an imouto at first. She’s quite distant because she has difficulty communicating with people, but after joining the stage performance as the lead heroine, she starts to get closer to Yuuma. She begins to call him ‘senpai’, and then ‘oniichan’ because she always wanted one. Even when they realized that they are actually blood-related siblings, she is steadfast in her love for him, uttering the line known to all imouto-lovers: 「レッツ背徳」(Let’s be immoral).

Yaya’s constant amaenbou attacks are the main reason why she’s on my list. In particular, two scenes stand out. First of all is the ‘oniichair’ scene when she sits on his lap by the kotatsu when he is helping her study. The second one is when Yaya comes into his classroom with the bentou she made for him, and she feeds him while all the other guys were watching them and getting extremely jealous. Not only does she feed him food (aa~n), but what’s killer is when she latches on to his arm and says that she can’t feed herself since she can’t pull her arm away. She’s stuck to him by the deep bonds of love! Ahhhh, I love it when someone is so deeply in love that they don’t notice or care about anything else.

That love is what causes her to still remember him even when she has lost her memories. He’s the only oniichan for her and she wants to be the only one who can call him oniichan. Now that’s an imouto I want.

Hiiragi Koharu

Speaking of constant attacks, Koharu is a mysterious self-proclaimed (fake) imouto who keeps up the direct attacks on Kaito, just like Yaya on Yuuma. This includes her legendary flying tackles. Even though she isn’t technically an imouto, she exhibits everything that an imouto would: amaenbou and jealousy in particular. She doesn’t want anyone else to be with him. She looooooooves meat. Take that as you may ^_~

It is later revealed that she was the first success of his father’s stem cell healing project, which he was also subjected to. This causes them both to be able to see the future. Because he had saved her in the past when the military raided the lab, she decided to reunite with him by waiting for him to reappear in Morino. She understands what destruction lies in store for Morino and all the possible scenarios and tries to find a way to avoid the worst possibilities.

I really love her because of her amaenbou moments, such as flopping on his bed and saying that she’s both relieved and excited at his scent, as well as her interaction with Kaito. The triggering of the ‘imouto switch’ by pulling her twintails was nice. But in addition to that, I admire her bravery and sacrifice in trying to save the whole city. Just a little girl with a big heart. One that also needs her nii-san’s tender love.

Chitose Sana
Tenshin Ranman (YuzuSoft)
CV: Agumi Oto

Oh look who it is! One of the first imouto that I fell in love with and still one of my tops, if not THE top, Sana’s deredere and panic moments (ero delusions) make her such a great imouto to have around. Extremely bracon, she treasures every moment she has with her nii-san, sometimes sneaking in to sleep with him at night. However, don’t anger her too much or it will trigger the Dark Sana mode (it’s not smart when she’s the one making your lunch). She’s also an excellent cook and extremely handy around the house. She looks great in an apron, if you know what I mean.

So this is the fourth imouto on this list and just like most of the above, Sana isn’t actually a true imouto. She is a lost spirit without any memories who Haruki noticed only because of his misfortunes and then he welcomed her into his family. There’s nothing bad about finding such a cute and devoted imouto!!! The final trial of their relationship from kami-sama showed just how much they understood and loved each other. I must’ve played her route at least four or five times since I loved that part so much. As he saw through the trick that Sana and Hime had switched appearances, I was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! ^____^

Sana was the one that really triggered my love for imoutos. She has a very special place in my harem. I mean, heart. Ah what the hell, both.

Amamiya Shizuku

Amaenbou is definitely one of the traits that I love the most about imoutos. Shizuku doesn’t seem to exhibit much of it at all. So why is she in my harem then? It’s because she isn’t honest to her own feelings. However, she keeps on dropping hints of her interest in a relationship with him that’s more than siblings. She also doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind, in particular asking him if he’s a virgin out of the blue and offering to be his girlfriend since he can’t get one. She confiscates all the choco he gets for Valentine’s day and gets him to read up on sex for training purposes. Did I mention also that she keeps a stash of incest manga in her room?

When she first met him after her mother remarried, she didn’t want an oniichan, but he told her that she shouldn’t force herself to call him that. She soon realized that he had become her first love. However, Makoto was still grieving over Hiyori’s death ten years ago. She has a sharp tongue and abuses him verbally a lot, but it’s because she truly cares about him and wants him to life a normal life instead of looking like he’s a walking dead.

A lovely caring imouto definitely deserves a spot in my harem even if she has a large ass.

Daikanyama Sumire
Suzunone Seven! (Clochette)

When you see Sumire, you know it’s… SUPER IMOUTO TIME!! Well, she’s actually a kouhai, but I’m fine if I get a ‘free’ ‘pure’ ‘imouto’ that calls me oniisama from time to time. But it’s more than that and her beret and ribbons… her playful personality and natural curiosity in everything around her really warms my heart. She writes for the popular school tabloid Suzusupo! and has top notch observation skills. Don’t be fooled into thinking that she’s just a cute and innocent girl! Behind that loveable exterior lies a cunning mastermind who will blackmail or deceit you into doing what she wants or maybe just for her amusement.

Sumire is the granddaughter of Suzunone Gakuen, but she has no interest in magic even though she has great magic potential. She was selected as part of the Worst Seven, along with Yukimura, and told to realize her father’s last words to her: to find what is most precious to her. Yukimura and Sumire work together to pass all the (cheesy) trials. She ends up passing because she finally has found someone precious to her and is now happy. Sumire was lonely and needed someone to depend on since she’s just a normal girl… albeit one that can use magic.

Don’t worry, Sumire! I’ll gladly proclaim my love for you!

Takanashi Mahiru
Da Capo II Plus Communication (CIRCUS)
CV: Ogura Yui

If Mai is the perfect imouto, then Mahiru is the perfect kouhai. Her name means midday, the time when the sun is shining brightest in the sky, and her personality is just that. Mahiru’s warm smile brings happiness to everyone and she makes friends easily. It’s especially poignant in contrast to her tragic story.

Yoshiyuki first notices Mahiru by the stairwell in the middle of the night. She is surprised that he can see her as she is actually a ghost. She passed away due to an illness ten years ago and had been stuck in the school as a spirit because it was her wish to meet a senpai that she could depend on. In her backstory in DCIITY, you really feel for her as even though fate has dealt her such a cruel hand, she still has such a positive attitude.

Of course, she also her own personality quirks, like her passion for rice crackers, deathly fear of ghosts (even though she is one herself) and using long examples to explain her feelings. I just reeeeeeally love her character and her story. Having someone like Mahiru in my harem would make everyone happy.

Minahoshi Asuho
Hoshizora no Memoria (FAVORITE)
CV: Samoto Fuuri

Just like Mahiru, Asuho is always smiling and is friends with everyone. She is a great moodmaker, which makes sense since she is the iincho in You’s class. In addition to that, she’s also the deputy club leader of the stargazing circle Tenkuru and helps out at her family cafe Milky Way. Obsessed with stars and is an amazing cook, especially with desserts. I’d love to taste her food >w<b

Although she is friendly to everyone, she’s very shy when it comes to love. However, once she turns deredere, she acts just like a puppy, clinging on to your arm and not wanting you to leave her. She is always on You’s right side because of a childhood accident that left her with limited hearing on her right ear. I’ll gladly have her by my side all the time (if the imoutos haven’t already claimed it).

μ / Sakuya
Da Capo II To You (CIRCUS)

Hey look, it’s a meido! (I really need to play more games with maids…)

In the DCII world, μ are mass-produced maid robots that can be commonly found on Hatsunejima. Yoshiyuki finds this μ thrown away by her previous owner and he takes her into his home. However, she’s defective and can’t cook or do housework at all, breaking or burning everything. But these same defects cause her to be able to experience emotion since her emotion limiter is broken. He gives her a name Sakuya. Even though she knows she cannot live for long if she doesn’t get the emotion limiter fixed, she still wants to continue living this life with him because she doesn’t want to lose these memories.

Sakuya gradually learns how to cook and do things that maids do, and in a pretty short period as well (much better than Yume). I admire her perseverance and also her emotional capability even as a robot. She also looks awfully cute with her hair tied up. She’ll make a great meido in my harem (even though most likely she’ll have to fight over who gets to do the chores…)

Phew. That was tough. In particular, the seiyuu (namely Agumi Oto) and anime adaptation constraints were pretty tough. Otherwise, you might’ve seen Mai (Yoake), Kana (Canvas2), Miharu (DC), Nanaka (DCII), Shuri (Koihime), Hitsuji (Natsunagi), Aya (Koisora), Ai (Sorairo) and Minase (Braban!) in this list instead. Maybe I should make an Agumi Oto only list later… Hmm…

In total: 5 imoutos (1 true), 2 kouhais, 1 osananajimi, 1 meido. Hey, they’re not all imoutos! And even the imoutos aren’t all true imoutos. As expected, lots of younger chars as they are who I love most. Lots of amaenbou. Just the way I like it~

So I definitely don’t have to worry about cooking as everyone in the harem can cook except for Sumire, but she’d probably get someone else to do it anyway (probably Mai). I know that jealousy would probably be a problem, but there’s enough oniichan/senpai time for everyone! And imouto jealousy is not a big deal. They’re even cuter when they’re jealous ^_~
