MangaGamer announced that their release of Koihime Musou later this winter will not include voices due to licensing costs. As a result, the price is lowered to around 40 euros. However, if over 2000 copies are sold, then they will release a patch appending the voices. This seems like a tall order for a niche market where many consider voices to be an essential part of the experience… I wish them the best of luck though. By the way, the trial version is available from their site.
Release dates have been set for the following titles:

uni. – October 28th
The chara poll for uni. has started up and will run until October 28th. As expected, a Shirakawa is leading. The post-release chara poll for Prism Magical ends on October 25th. Shione won the first one. Which magical girl (?) will you vote for? Zettai Imouto Genri Shugi!! is also running their chara poll until September 30th.
Kaoruko and Matsuri placed 1-2 in the Sugar+Spice2 chara poll. As a result, Kaoruko gets a dakimakura and there’s a short story for Matsuri in the next patch for CFC members. Also, an original story drama CD (72 mins long) will be out at Dream Party. All the characters spend a night camping.
CIRCUS is releasing 10th anniversary commemorative CDs with the best songs from their games. I’m a big fan of yozuca* and rino’s pieces.
The second album by OSTER project, Cinnamon Philosophy, comes out October 27th at 2625 yen from 5pb. I love OSTER project’s song; they always are so cheerful ><b
The OP for Oreimo is “irony” sung by new high school girls duet ClariS. The single comes out on October 20th. I was expecting something more cute than stylish. Out of all the ED submissions, I’ve taken a liking to Ruro’s “Tsubasa”. It definitely has the soft ED feel.
Doujin circle Rabbit Garden’s next title is Satsuki-iro no Sora ni. Shuuya has always known since he was little that things dear to him will not be there forever. When he moved to a new town with his imouto Azumi, he intended to live a peaceful life without bothering anyone else. However, this all changed when he met Kikyou and Aon. This game has been in development for about a year and probably has some time to go before it’s released.
GreenWay‘s next title is Koakuma Loli ~Oniichan wa Watashi no Dorei da yo♪~… Why does it seem like S imoutos are popular in doujins…
The movie for doujin anime Kowarekake no Orgel was shown last Saturday in Ikebukuro and again next Saturday. You would’ve never guessed it was a doujin just by looking at it.
F&C’s Pia Carrot e Youkoso!! 4 will be ported over to the XBox360 this winter.
Toradora! author Takemiya Yuyuko’s newest light novel Golden Time (illust by Komatsu E-ji) debuted last Friday. During university orientation, Banri loses his way and meets Mitsuo who was also lost. Then a girl appeared in front of them, carrying a bouquet of roses. After whacking Mitsuo on the head a couple times with it, she gives it to him and congratulates him on being accepted into the university. This perfect girl is actually his childhood friend Kouko who he had promised to marry when they were small. He tried to run away from her, but she followed him all the way here, even enrolling in the same university.
Harvest Novels is releasing a spin out Baldr Sky Another Days on September 24th.
GA Bunko has started up a Twitter bot for Famima!‘s Sabrina. Si.
GSC’s latest nendoroid is Archbishop from Ragnarok Online (3500 yen, December). The sitting pose is nice, as well as the hat. And she comes with a poring! Didn’t you always want a poring? GSC is also carrying FREEing’s 1/4 scale figure of Lucky Star‘s Hiyori (gym outfit ver). Priced at 14,800 yen and comes out in January.
Return of the 1/8 scale Oreimo‘s Kirino figure via Toy’sworks, complete with a copy of Hoshikuzu Meruru! It costs 5980 yen and comes out in January.
New Nanoha 1/7 scale figure from ALTER features Fate in casual wear. She looks quite nice. I wonder if they’ll make a casuar wear version for Nanoha?
ALcot is making a dakimakura for Real Imouto‘s Shiori. So you can deepen your bonds with her. Well, actually for me, I’d want to see a Mai dakimakura. Or maybe they’re planning that too?
Some of you may have heard about the story about the new elementary school in Yamagata prefecture that was given the same name as doujin loli eroge circle Shiritsu Sakuranbo Gakuen. Originally the officials vowed not to change the name since it would be akin to ‘giving in to the bad guys’, but now they’ve done an about-face and have decided to change the school’s name. It’s probably in the best interest of both parties. Always loved the name though; it’s cute.
Yayifications! It seems like Recettear was pretty popular from what I read on forums and saw on Twitter. Hope Carpe Fulgur localizes more EGS or other doujin games.

Spent some time fixing an on-going internet problem I had this week. Seems to be fine now. I decided to reach back a few years back and play August’s Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na, mainly for Mai’s route. Many imouto sites are quite fond of her, so I wanted to see it for myself. This is part of the reason why this post is so late. I’m seriously wondering whether I like Mai or Sana more now…

Okay except I didn’t sign on twitter to post to rejoice. 6 instant followers.
Hm Fate casual wear figurine. Not bad. I’m curious why the timing on it is now, when this is like, 5 – 6 years later.
And honestly I’m surprised you didn’t play Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro Na given that Mai is there, but it’s probably due to being outside of the timeline scope as opposed to overlooking her. Game’s weaker on plot but Mai isn’t bad per se on ambiance I gather. (I prefer Midori though but that has more to do with like, not being a main girl, and the fact that she possesses absolute normalcy instead of a trait.) Don’t forget, Mai can distract you in the original, the PS2 port, and Moonlight Cradle. Oh she has a dakimakura too and other stuff to come to think of it.
But for Mai to challenge Sana in preference, that’s almost like inherent mascot dilemma. But then again in terms of imouto, personally I’d say Mizuiro’s Yuki or Final Approach’s Akane had excellent ambiance, particularly Yuki and her year 2001 existance that pre- … what’s the word (exists prior to other imouto that followed later).
Hm, 10 year commemorative CD. Wait, didn’t CIRCUS’ Aries exist in April 2000? Eh I guess that’s about right. The singers are good, and I saw rino live so that was awesome.
For now I shall sign up for twitter and tweet to Zen. …If I ever get around to it.

@nagiamatsu: Kowarekake Orgel is illustrated by ElectromagneticWave’s POP, who also did Moe-tan. I really love the soft pastel feel.
@Amoirsp: Ya, it’s due to the recent Nanoha movie. I had Yoake when it first came out, but I never got around to playing much of it since I was still playing RO back then (and you know how Korean MMOs are…) I knew Mai already and since it’s a bit slow lately, I thought it would be a good time to try out her route. I wasn’t disappointed at all. XD
@eab1990: Agumi Oto is amazing! >< Unfortunately, she's voicing less characters nowadays (and mostly under pseudonyms), so I'll take every chara that I get!
@hugh: It's not that interesting of a plot, except Banri's identity. Early reviews weren't too high.

Oreimo opening’s song seems rather good, I look forward so badly to the anime *-* I’m happy that Takemiya Yuyuko started a new novel! I would love to read it after improving my japanese lulz. But wow, the BIG news this week is that Micchi is (maybe) loving Mai more than Sana (??!!?16WTFOMG16!?161!?!?6).

Somehow the Nanoha movie flew by my head. In that case the timing is pretty sweet.
(Don’t remind me of Korean mmos. The initial effect is good, but man, was it time consuming.)
Knowing Mai’s character, and the way you prefer imoutos, it was practically guaranteed you would have no issue whatsoever. I still think her character balance is really good, and it speaks volumes even if you don’t know what’s going on (oh right, and the VA being very good no doubt). In terms of imouto themselves I still say Yuki from Mizuiro is tops though. (Must be the older effect, being 2001 again.)
I’m curious what prompted you to play it now (aside from the slow month). If anything, I thought the release of Moonlight Cradle would have prompted a look, and that was 2009 I believe, post RO.

It came out in Feb’09. I was still playing Mabinogi. I started playing eroge more in March, just in time for Hoshimemo.
I noticed Mizuiro‘s Yuki too. I do plan to play it if I have time…

Ooo. Unlike Yoake, you don’t really hear about Mizuiro, ever. If you played Mizuiro (not that I have) you can instantly (supposedly) see why I would say Yuki is tops as an imouto in my opinion, even when she’s the primary (lead). Generally primaries never get my nod of preference (okay so that still applies in Mizuiro, nevermind). And well, again, older bias, since I call this “prototype effect” in the sense Yuki long existed before any of the other imouto. The art is old but I think the character design is impressive.
If you do ever have time to play it, I would definitely like to know what you thought of it, or a review for that matter.

Golden Time looks pretty good. I do hope Carpe Fulgar localizes more games. Recettear has been selling well, in fact I think it was one of the top sellers on Steam. I bought it and played through the normal game mode. Quite addicting I must say. Capitalism, ho!
