Some Things Never Change

April and May’s lists are starting to shape up with a bunch of new games announced via TECH GIAN and PUSH!!. Aside from new companies Orange Pekoe, Yatagarasu and Caramel BOX’s sister company Ichigo Aji, the rest should look quite familiar to most of you.

AppliqueTasogare no Sinsemilla
Caramel BOX Ichigo AjiMeguri Megureba Meguru Toki!?
EushullyIkusa Megami VERITA (April 23rd)
FrontWingMakai Tenshi Djibril 4
Orange PekoeHime to Majin to Koisuru Tamashii
sugar potHapi Sama! ~Miyanomori-mura e Youkoso!~
WhirlpoolNeko Koi! ~Neko Kami-sama to Nekomimi no Tatari~ (April 30th)
YatagarasuKokoro no Sumika

Release dates have been announced for the following games:

Noblesse Oblige – March 26th
Akatsuki no Goei ~Tsumibukaki Shuumatsuron~ – April 22nd
Iro ni Ide ni Keri Waga Koi wa – April 29th
Shu ni Majiwareba Akaku Naru – April 30th
Little Rabbits – May 28th
Prism Magical – May 28th
Prism Rhythm – May 28th
Magical Moerin R – June 18th

The cast for Djibril 4 seems to be completely new, with no returning characters. It’ll be in wide screen. The art for Yatagarasu’s debut game isn’t that polished, similar to Caricature’s in April. It will be a heartwarming tale about an android.

etude‘s Akizora ni Mau Confetti will be an autumn love story around a drama club in danger of being disbanded. Nagisa, we need your help! Marmalade‘s Love 2 Quad will be roughly based on the Miraroma world. The concepts behind WHITESOFT‘s Little Rabbits are child-like selfishness, twintails and ‘sisters VS lovers’. Sounds great to me!

Is that an imouto I see in MOONSTONE’s Angel Ring? But… but… the illustrator isn’t Mitha! What’s with all the studios lately changing main illustrators? Lump of Sugar’s Prism Rhythm isn’t drawn by Moekibara Fumitake, but their following game (announced by end of 2010) will be.

Surprisingly, Cross Days has been delayed to March 19th. Hands up if you saw that coming. Let us also take this time to show the results from the poll held on this blog in early December.

“Considering the numerous delays, when do you think Cross Days will finally be released?”
Jan-Mar 2010: 12%
Apr-Jun 2010: 12%
Jul-Dec 2010: 19%
2011 or later: 22%
Never: 34%

It’s nice to see that people have faith. We’ve brainstormed some possible reasons why it has been delayed so much: 1) Preparing for this year’s April Fool’s instead; 2) Inability to draw a boat that’s nice enough; 3) Vigorous quality control for synchro system. Any other ideas?

The character voice samples are up for next week’s Hoshimemo Eternal Heart. Chinami doesn’t sound the same anymore. She must be a replacement for the one that got abducted by those poor aliens.

Official sites have been opened for new companies Kamille and Concerto. Their debut works Oshikake! Entremets and Oborokomachi don’t have scheduled released dates yet.

Doujin circle fly-system will release 3D battle action game Elemental Battle Academy this April. POP’s character designs are cute as always.

PSP game Fate/Extra has been pushed back to March 18th.

A second figure for Yosuga no Sora‘s Sora has been announced by Kotobukiya. This one is a 1/6 scale PVC in sukumizu, and will be out in May at a price of 7140 yen. Is Sora really that popular? I’d prefer the other one though.

Another Shuri (Koihime) figure by Kotobukiya: this time only available via Amazon JP. I like the pose, but still think the quality isn’t as high as I hope it’d be.

Rounding off the ToHeart2 maids is ALTER’s figure of Ilfa. More info will be available on January 28th.

Yet another Saber figure. I’m not even sure what the differences are anymore…

Trap alert. Or if you don’t swing that way, have some Mizuki instead.

So Valentine’s Day (and SAD) are fast approaching. Not expecting to get any chocolates this year? How about ordering one of the 7 SHUFFLE! Valentine Sets (5000 yen each). You can choose from Sia, Nerine, Kaede, Asa, Primula, Kareha and Sakura. The set includes a cup, a tie, 6 chocolates and a Valentine’s card. Hmm… would you still have to give something back for White Day?

Happy birthday to Yumina (01/22), Sakuno (01/23) and Primula (01/25)! I’m gonna celebrate the occasion by devoting today to playing Mashifoni. Uryu!

I saw that Hideyoshi figure. The eyes scare me. *shudder* But the other one is cute…
Even I was looking at the Sora figure. I haven’t played, but she does have Misaki Kurehito artwork of her, and that is good enough for me.

    We will be missing you, Chinami.. ;_;
Isuzu, Yume, and Asuho’s voice is just too adorable..

Somehow, my chemistry with Applique Imouto is still not good. I hope Tasogae no Sinsemilla will fare better.

Yeah, usually the reason studios start putting out games that feature other main illustrators is because they’re working on multiple games at once. But Mitha’s also been busy with some other projects recently as well, so that could play into it too. What I think is interesting here is that the new Moonstone illustrators are obviously emulating Mitha’s style a lot. Other times when studios do this, they let the new illustrator(s) put out a game totally in their own style instead so there’s a deliberate contrast. Hopefully the writer decides to stay away from science fiction this time… (no charts and diagrams this time, please… ^^;; )

Anyway, finally completely Mashiro-iro Symphony, and will have to collect my thoughts about it at some point. All in all, I think it was pretty good.

By the way, speaking of Yosuga no Sora, they’re releasing an artbook for the game next month, along with one for Cube’s Natsu no Ame. So something for the artbook collectors too.

    Good, Chinami sounds less annoying.

  • 7. warum  |  January 24, 2010 at 12:22 am

Eh, many despises Chinami, but you have to think: is it really the voice? I mean her role and her lines are designed to be clingy.

Quiz time, what do Yumina , Sakuno and Primula share in common?
    Sieg Heil Subliminal messages.

    This is an awesome tag

@mefloraine: Yeah… those eyes are scary. The Hideyoshi dakimakura was well done though.

    @Kresnik: 明日歩「むー!」

@Hemisphere: You can wait for it while frolicking as the Maou.

@nagiamatsu: Damn straight! Imouto make everything good!

@relentlessflame: Grats on completing Mashifoni. I’m still going through Miu’s route AND LOVING EVERY BIT OF IT. Yup, the CUBE/Sphere artbooks are coming out late Feb.

    @Reikon: It’s a welcome change.

@warum: Sure, it could possibly be something intrinsic with the character, but I’m hoping that with this change, I might like her char/story a bit more. I know some people actually like her uza-kawaii and were sorely disappointed with the news. Subliminal messages? Where?

@SnooSnoo: And it’ll only get longer.

    hawawa… no shuri want….. TT.TT

  • 11. m3rryweather  |  January 24, 2010 at 9:36 pm

Man, I love to rant on about how much Chinami gets on my nerves but now it feels weird because her voice is less grating. What am I supposed to say? >_> Dang the character voices are all freaking adorable. ^^

  • 12. Zakarum  |  January 25, 2010 at 1:50 am

You simply do not understand the difficulties involved in drawing a truly nice boat!

    • 13. Kresnik  |  January 25, 2010 at 4:28 am

Well, maybe it’s going to have an evolution into nice ark, or nice plane, or nice train, or even nice [insert every possible means of transportation]..

  • 14. Wrathkal  |  January 25, 2010 at 6:12 am

Geez, that trap figurine SUX. Hideyoshi is not supposed to be like Jun, who wants to be treated like a girl, and those cheeks is giving that impression, which fails either way.

The only character on that birthday list I care about would be Primula I guess. Never touched Yumina in Tayutama.

    I wouldn’t mind some Shuffle chocolates >_> <_<
