Moe Game Award 2009 Results

UnisonShift has announced a Flyable Heart fandisk, Kimi no Nagori wa Shizuka ni Yurete, for spring 2010. It will be an ‘if’ story about Mayuri, who pretty much had the weakest story of the 6 heroines in the original. Her memories of the past, as well as the truth will finally be revealed. The story will begin with Shou not being caught in the fireworks explosion. At first, I was very thrilled about a new FH game, but Mayuri’s at the bottom of my list, so I’m not so sure anymore. What about Yui and Suzuno? Zen sure is happy though…

Following the release of Shuffle! Essence+ in October, Navel is not ready to move on to other games just yet (although OreTsuba was good). Scheduled for 2011 is Princess Princess, the after story for Sia and Kikyou. It will take place in the realm of the gods. It’s about time they made a spinoff for Sia! I wonder how many chars will make repeat appearances… Primula, Daisy and Ruri perhaps?

Other recently announced games include:

Abel SoftwareRentou Ranma (February 26th)
AkabeiSoft2Kourin no Machi, Lavendar no Shoujo
AkabeiSoft2Okiba ga Nai! (May 27th)
BasiLRebirth -Kioku e Tsumugu Rinbukyoku-
Chuable SoftSugar+Spice 2
LimeMaximum Magic Quirk of Destiny
Primrose – Choujikuu Bakuren Monogatari (April 28th)
White CycNadeshiko Ranbu

Clochette‘s newest game Amatsu Misora ni! will be out on April 30th. I still think it bears an uncanny resemblance to their previous work Kamipani!. Meanwhile, even though more than 30% of you think that Cross Days will never be released, Overflow has set the (latest) release date for January 29th. We’ll see how that goes. Two other games were delayed: Ohime-sama wa, Panthera Leo (February 26th) and Floating Material (March 26th).

little witch is closing indefinitely after the release of Sugarcoat Freaks. This was quite a surprise to those in the business (other companies also commented about it on their blogs) as their games seem to sell well and their distinctive art has loyal followers. Being profitable is difficult nowadays, especially in the eroge industry. Even though I’m neutral on their works, I hope they come back in the future, similar to NekoNekoSoft. Oh, and also Gargoyle is also closing.

The final results for the Moe Game Award 2009 are out! Shin Koihime Musou was the winner, with Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! and Twinkle Crusaders placing 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Kittosumi and 77 also did well, with Tapestry also winning. Check out the overall results and individual category results at the official site.

The latest game of the Yume no Uwabashi series by doujin maker Mugen Touhi Kyuusuu is ready for C77. Check out the OP here. Another doujin eroge to keep your eye on is Benitanuki‘s Gensou no Avatar. The trial version, with about 9 hours of playtime, will be out at C77.

Voice samples are out for Hatsunejima Miku, which will be on sale at C77. Hearing Miku makes me want to cry. Please CIRCUS, just focus on D.C.III now…

A pleasant surprise for me that みなみ of Chibi Miku 4koma fame will be doing cut-in SDs for Hoshizora no Memoria Eternal Heart. I’ve been following the 4koma for a while now and think that the SDs will fit in nicely with the game.

The chara poll for Tenkuu no Yumina FD has begun. It lasts till January 8th. Lailah won the Shiden chara poll and there’s a second chara poll already. Nanami took 1st place in the Hime x Hime second chara poll. She gets a special (totally NSFW) wallpaper.

The ef series will be ported over to the PS2 by COMFORT with additional scenes. Scheduled release date is in April.

A bunch of new figures this week, of varying quality. Gemaga and feng are collaborating on a beautiful figure of Minato from Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka. It’ll be out in March. Love the pose and hair. KyoAni is making their own 1/8 scale PVC K-ON! Mio figure based on the design from the ED. Penguin Parade is releasing a 1/8 scale PVC figure of Shin Koihime Musou‘s Karin in May for 8190 yen. I think the castoff top feature is unnecessary. I don’t think the quality is up to par on this one; the edges look a bit rough. Kotobukiya’s Sekai figure is scheduled for March. Where’s her knife?

Also by Kotobukiya is a pair of figures of ToHeart2‘s Tamaki and Manaka, Christmas-style. The two 1/8 scale PVCs together, all neatly wrapped along with other goodies, is a very cool 12000 yen.

On the chibi side, the latest K-ON! nendoroid by GSC is Mugi-chan! I like the blank face 0.0 But when is Azunyan showing up!? Then there’s the awfully cute mini SD figures of the Saki cast. They’re obviously not high quality (630 yen each), but chibis are nice to have around when you like the chars. Tacos!

Ariel Wave is releasing “Citron Soft Memorial Songs”, covering the OPs for Imouto Smile, Mikoko and Dokodemo Suki Shite, Itsudemo Suki Shite. Price tag is 2000 yen. Samples are available on the site.

The first of the Seitokai no Ichizon character albums is coming out on Christmas, featuring Kurimu’s “Usamaru Hunter”. It also includes a drama segment. I’m curious how well these will turn out since the seiyuu are relatively new.

The Negima guide book came out a couple days ago and is more than 750 pages long, with separate sections for the characters and story. You know the series is long when the summary is called ‘The Bible’.

Help send Miku to Venus! The Japanese space agency JAXA is planning to set aside 100 aluminum plates on the next spacecraft Akatsuki for messages and illustrations and there is a signature project to support chodenzi-P to send our favorite Vocaloid Miku to the distant planet. There needs to be 10,000 digital signatures by January 6th. You can read more about it on the info page and submit your comments in any language you wish. 金星をみっくみくにしてやってください!ネギを振れ!

Ebi’s (Minase) birthday was on December 15th. There was a mini story on YuzuSoft’s blog which reminded me how much I like her. Her playful personality and ability to brighten up the room is always welcome. Happy birthday Ebi ^^ (I want Ebi Plus) Among TOYPLA’s upcoming YuzuSoft merchandise is a Ebi-tan cushion! Love the strawberry pattern!

Since D.C.II Fall in Love is out, I’ll be playing through Mahiru’s route this weekend. Final Dragon Chronicle in Manaka de Ikuno!! is also fun, but just like any RPG, it eats up so much time. >_<

Webclap responses:

Just noticed you have your birthday today.

True that, being profitable is difficult these days. That’s why the very cool 12,000 yen comes into play, ugh.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. MY LITTLEWITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No seriously. I’ve always liked littlewitch’s style.

Don’t get why Koihime musou got so high when Tapestry and Asairo was so low. Funny how baldr just won the best song award XD.

hmm.. i’m not surprise at koihime bagging most of the awards since it’s really a well finish product especially in the story and BGM section.

what’s surprising to me was how well majikoi did since the story got tedious at times, and the most surprising thing of all is that it’s high placement in the BGM and OP since i thought they were a little mediocre.

only up side to the game was the well executed tsundere (kuri luvbu), great battle climax, and a true end route that’s worth turning into an animation.

and i predict that mashiroiro symphony would bag most of 2010 awards especially wining best scenario and pure love, and would compete with skyprythem for both the BGM and OP awards.

    and nayuta 2010!!

now to clear my back log in 2 weeks to prepare for 2010.

It’s official, Japanese are moe for gender-bendered historical figures. It’s so sad and silly that it’s not even funny..

Looking at the merchandise news about Da Capo II is like another huge whack with a brick on my head. I’m still amazed by how much effort Circus is doing to keep the franchise alive.

As always, I’ll be eagerly awaiting for the Hoshizora and FH fandiscs. Yume has the awesome onee-san vibe but I WANT MOAR MARE! \o/

Re: Navel’s Princess Princess…where did you get that piece of news from if I may ask? In fact Navel is about to unveil their next project soon (on 26th through the February issues of Dengeki G’s magazine and Dengeki HIME released on that date) and they launched a site for that but no details yet (and Princess Princess is listed together with several other hinted/not announced Navel works over at Erogamescape with a 2011 release for quite a while which still is unconfirmed though).
So I wondered wheter I missed some news sneak on that issue since I’m leaning towards the thought the new Navel project will be related with Oretsuba (silhouette’s on yet to be opened the Navel 2010 project site and even moreso after the Oretsuba page now has “2010 Coming Soon… NEXT GENERATION COMES!!” written all over it ^_^).

This particular news was from 嘘900. There is a new Oretsuba game as you’ve noticed for 2010.

@Accany: Koihime did well since it pretty much covered every single moe trait. That and the actual story isn’t half bad. And Tapestry did win something.

@GarethXL: I think Mashifoni will do well in artwork and story. It feels good, but I don’t think it is for everyone.

@Kresnik: Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Especially when there’s Shuri! Hawawa!
