Yui’s Favorite Day
The EOCS approved the self-censorship, but no specifics were announced. Syrup and SPEED has since changed the titles to their upcoming games, but that’s about as far as it goes. I honestly don’t think it’s as big of an issue as some people make it out to be.
New maker Silksoft has announced their debut game Distance. Meanwhile, Fault!! has been delayed to July 31st, joining a ton of other great games in that month. Also, the trials to Purple Software‘s Memoria and WHEEL‘s Daiuchuu no Hokori are out now.
Via Danny Choo: Kodansha International recently published an otaku encyclopedia. The entry for eroge goes as follows: “Erotic video and PC games. Eroge are explicitly sexual, and the player’s avatar has sex with, or molests, numerous girls in a fantasy harem. The most representative example is the game To Heart by game company Leaf. See also the parallel genre of GYARUGE”. While that is their most basic definition, I feel it misses the point since it seems to imply that sex is the main driver in these games. Then again, I wouldn’t expect detailed definitions in a book that tries to explain every single ‘otaku’ term.
The top three in Getchu’s May sales rankings are Tayutama -It’s happy days-, Tenshin Ranman and Hana to Otome ni Shukufuku o. Tayutama HD probably topped the list due to the anime running at the same time.
Two character polls recently wrapped up. For Natsuiro Straight, the top three were Sayaka, Rin and Itsuki. I’m quite happy that Rin finished second even though she really didn’t have much screentime (or maybe the heroines just weren’t good). As expected, Miyuki handily took the Rakugaki Over Heart chara poll over Midori and Ai.
Now for some news on the doujin front. VALLEL is releasing Nozomi Kanaetamae ~Daydream Reconstruct~ and Luna System is releasing Nanagane Gakuen at Comiket 76. A sample of VALLEL’s works are shown on their promo movie. If you’re wondering why Luna System’s art looks familiar, it’s because the character designs are by Mitha, who also did Marginal Skip. I’m going to keep my eye on this one.
fly-system is collaborating with POP/ElectromagneticWave (of Moetan fame) to produce Elemental Battle Academy. My guess is that the new game will have a similar battle system to their previous game Magical Battle Arena.
Highly anticipated PSP rhythm game Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- comes out on July 2nd and the OST is released on July 22nd. There’s a lot of well-known Miku songs in the game. Check out the samples on the site!
yozuca* has two 10th anniversary albums “enjoy” and “piece”, which are collections of her best songs. Since she is most well known for songs for the Da Capo franchise, a lot of the anime and game themes are in the two albums.
Hitsuji fever is catching on, as shown by this Natsunagi itasha.
After failing to get Gumi-chan, Shou asks Mayuri for help….
