A Walk Down Memory Lane – Route 2
Starting around 2004 or so, the number of eroge companies has steadily increased and the quality of the games and OPs has similarly gotten better too. Most of these are now known not only to eroge players, but regular anime watchers since many have been adapted over to anime, such as SHUFFLE!, Canvas2, School Days and ToHeart2. This post covers the period of 2004 to 2005.
Canvas2 ~Akaneiro no Palette~ (F&C) – “Plastic Smile”
Another game I own. Bought it due to my interest in the Canvas series. It didn’t disappoint me one bit. Kana <3
con-neco (Marmalade) – “Egao o Oikakete”
Bittersweet ending makes me RAGE. WHY!!?!??!?!?
SHUFFLE! (Navel) – “Mirage Lullaby”
Kaede > Asa. That is all. I wish Tsubomi had a route in the original.
Haru no Ashioto (minori) – “Haru -feel coming spring-“
It’s Makoto Shinkai. Besides, I’ve played this before. It’s less about relationships and more about growing up.
Princess Brave Jantaku no Kishi (130cm) – “Princess Brave!”
I still don’t understand Japanese mahjong. Maybe watching Saki will help me.
Lamune (NekonekoSoft) – “Nante ne 76’s”
The laid-back nature of the OP and setting hides the heart-wrenching drama that this title holds. I’d compare this to Tapestry.
CLANNAD (key) – “Megumeru”
I know this isn’t technically an eroge, but it’s by key. Anime made me cry.

_summer (HOOK) – “Koi no Uta”
Relaxing OP for a relaxing game.
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (Caramel Box) – “You make my day!”
This year traps came to the forefront with OtoBoku‘s Mizuho and Happiness!‘s Jun. I really should finish this game.
Gift (MoonStone) – “Tatoeba, Totsuzen”
Another game I own. I’m torn between Riko and Kirino. I like the OP for the PS2 version too.
School Days (Overflow) – “Still I love you ~Mitsumeru Yori wa Shiawase~”
Infamous game for many reasons: not only the bad ends, but also the immense file size and subsequent patches. The use of extensive video footages did make it distinct though.
ToHeart2 (Leaf) – “Heart to Heart”
I originally played most of this on PS2, then got the PC version when it came out. Konomi is sooooo cute. I love the parody of this in the ToHeart2 Another Days OP.
Nursery Rhyme (Lump of Sugar) – “true my heart”
It’s amazing how well known this song is now. ave;new songs are so hyper.
