January 2009 Eroge Releases

January 2, 2009 at 2:02 pm 14 comments

A new year means new eroge releases. December’s batch was quite nice and the trend continues into this month as well. The one I’m looking forward to the most is UnisonShift Blossom’s Flyable Heart. There seems to be an increase in the number of good titles this month, so please do check some of them out!

Note: This post contains mature content. All links will be 18+. Some videos are ecchi, but should be relatively clean unless stated otherwise.

Saiki Kanpatsu Saishoku Kenbi no Kimi-tachi e

Company: あっぷりけ-妹- (Applique Imouto)
Game site: 才気煥発才色兼備の君たちへ
Release date: January 22, 2009
Comments: What a long title. SaiSai is the first title from Applique’s sister company… which is aptly named Applique Imouto. Applique’s latest title was Concerto Note, which was somewhat decent. This one, however, seems to need some work. It just doesn’t seem to have anything that makes it stand out from other eroge, aside from the gimmick that they’re all geniuses. Mamiru is a nice mascot for the brand though.

Flyable Heart

Company: ユニゾンシフト:ブロッサム (UnisonShift Blossom)
Game site: Flyable Heart
Release date: January 23, 2009 Delayed to March 19, 2009
Comments: This is the one I’m looking forward to the most for January. UnisonShift has always been a favourite of mine, mainly because of their first work Nanatsuiro Drops. I was getting major similar vibes from the OP. Their characters are so moe, and I’m not only talking about the main heroines. I also love all their chibi chars too >w<b And remember, it’s Flyable Heart, not Fryable Heart.

Company: Symphony
Game site: Tiara
Release date: January 23, 2009 Delayed to March 27, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from November. Why is there still no promo video? At least this time we get more info about the story. It seems you have to protect 6 princesses who go to a magic school. Hmm… I’ll pass.

Funwari Complex

Company: 戯画 (Giga)
Game site: ふわりコンプレックス
Release date: January 23, 2009 Delayed to February 27, 2009
Comments: Well, the last mahjong game I remember was 130cm’s Princess Brave. There’s so many girls in this one and Tenka looks like a cross between Haruhi and Miku. The problem with this game is that it’s a one trick thing, win at mahjong and you get your dose of HCG. Oh, then there’s knowing how to play Japanese mahjong. I still don’t understand it.

Warning: Some HCG with censorship. Oh wait, it’s already showing.

Amber Quartz

Company: コットンソフト (Cotton Soft)
Game site: アンバークォーツ -Amber Quartz-
Release date: January 23, 2009
Comments: Another eroge about a group of reunited friends. The premise for this game reminds me of Regista/Yeti’s Myself;Yourself and Haikuo Soft’s Yotsunoha. I liked Cotton Soft’s last work Nagisa no, although it was a bit slow at times, so I expect this one to be decent as well.

Kokoro Hokenshitsu ~Kimi to Naisho no Counselling~

Company: かすたーど (Custard)
Game site: ココロ保健室~キミとナイショのカウンセリング~
Release date: January 23, 2009
Comments: What a peculiar title. Not only does it have lots of hearts, but the secondary title is ‘Secret Counselling with You’. Hmmmmm. Looks pretty tacky.

Tsun na Kanojo Dere na Kanojo

Company: PeasSoft
Game site: ツンな彼女 デレな彼女
Release date: January 23, 2009 Delayed to March 27, 2009
Comments: This eroge features 3 tsun heroines and 3 dere heroines, so you can choose which kind you want. Although I think they all end up dere in the end. There’s actually 3 different videos (tsun OP, dere OP and ED), sung by YURIA, Sakakibara Yui and rita. I like the music and art is decent, so I think I’ll check this one out. Where’s the yandere? I’m going with deredere.

Tsun OP

Tokino Senka

Company: Studio e.go!
Game site: トキノ戦華
Release date: January 23, 2009
Comments: I don’t think I can tell the difference between Studio e.go!’s titles anymore. They’re all ADV/SLG set in ancient Japan. Their system isn’t one for everyone either. Well, I’m not a huge fan of either the setting nor the system, so I’ll pass on this one.

Mystereet ~Another Side of Church~

Company: アーベルソフトウェア (Abel Software)
Game site: ミステリート~アザーサイド・オブ・チャーチ~
Release date: January 23, 2009
Comments: New release date after being pushed back from December. Nothing more to comment about since there’s still no OP.

Kikouyoku Senki Tenkuu no Yumina

Company: Eternal
Game site: 輝光翼戦記 天空のユミナ
Release date: January 23, 2009
Comments: Well, they sure packed a lot of stuff into this game. There’s your standard ADV stuff, dungeon crawling, monster battles, and random antics. It’s promoted as an RPG with magic battles in a school setting. Interesting stuff.

Company: Stronger
Game site: PYGMALION
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: This eroge is a dark romance type with gore involved. I’m not a fan of this type, but maybe some of you are. While Stronger isn’t a well-known brand, I’ve heard of their previous work Figurehead before.

Aki Maho!

Company: KLEIN
Game site: あきまほ!
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: KLEIN keeps on churning out low-quality eroge very fast. The ‘plot’ for this one is that Akihabara is under the threat of evil monsters and a shota (that’s you) turns into a mahou shoujo (that’s a girl, by the way) to save the holy otaku sanctuary. Yes, tentacles are involved. Yes, they raep the mahou shoujo. Yes, that’s you.

Pai Touch!

Company: May-Be SOFT
Game site: ぱいタッチ!
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: Normally, I wouldn’t write about these types of games, but I’ll make an exception for May-Be Soft. If you’ve known from their Henshi~n! series, they’re capable of some really goofy games. The gimmick for this one is that the you are the 乳神 who has the ability to make certain parts of the female anatomy bigger. Obviously they flock to you for your services. Well, basically the whole game should be an ero fest. The bouncing singular boob in the OP creeps me out btw.

Suzunone Seven!

Company: クロシェットlumie (Clochette lumie)
Game site: スズノネセブン!
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: I love Clochette’s art a lot. It’s nice, simple and clean with nice bright colours. Sumire is sooooo moe! Beret makes everything so much better (yes yes). Definitely going to play this one.

Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai

Company: Navel
Game site: 俺たちに翼はない
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: I liked the OP a lot. I didn’t play the Prelude to OreTsuba, but it’s nice to see Navel coming with a title that isn’t just an extension of Shuffle! I’ll probably try this one out, but it’s not at the top of my list.

Shukufuku no Campanella -la campanella della benedizione-

Company: ういんどみるOasis (Windmill Oasis)
Game site: 祝福のカンパネラ
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: The last Windmill Oasis title was Happiness! Re-lucks, which is mainly known as the Happiness! fan disk where Jun actually becomes a girl instead of just being a trap. I like the characters designs (Minette is absolutely adorable) and all the songs are catchy. Definitely on my list.

All 4 chara PVs

Maou to Odore! 2

Company: catwalk
Game site: 魔王と踊れ!2
Release date: January 30, 2009
Comments: This one seems like a standard fantasy RPG eroge. The characters nor art really stand out to me. I’m not really familiar with catwalk’s games.

Micchi’s Top 3 for this month

  1. Flyable Heart
  2. Shukufuku no Campanella
  3. Suzunone Seven!

Which ones do you plan to play this month?

    1. Shukufuku no Campanella (pre-ordered it and February’s Yoakemae Ruriiro na ~ Moonlight Cradle yesterday)
    2. Suzunone Seven
    3. Flyable Heart
    3. OreTsuba (maybe)

  • 13. Micchi  |  January 25, 2009 at 2:22 pm

I was just looking up Tsukumono today and Zettai! Karen! Ojou-sama‘s already on the list. Thanks for the find on the other three, Algester. ^^

Interesting that FrontWing is expanding upon Time Leap as I thought it failed pretty badly. I do like the designs though…

  • 14. Algester  |  January 28, 2009 at 5:43 pm
