It’s that time of year again: when anime enthusiasts descend upon the Tokyo Big Sight for 3 days to search and destroy take home some spoils. As usual, there’s going to be thousands of doujins, games, music and other goodies available. Lots of illustrators and circles showcasing their art. All the eroge companies with lots of random goodies that I want. Again, I want to go. And once again, I can’t. Sigh.
Of course, the highlight is the new Umineko no Naku Koro ni game (Episode 4: Alliance of the Golden Witch) from Ryukishi07/07th Expansion. There’s a new OP for this game with scenes from the 3rd episode.
There are others which interest me. First is POP/ElectromagneticWave’s new work Kowarekake no Orgol. They did the original Moe-tan and their work is as moe as ever. It looks so professional and high quality.
Second, have you heard that Touhou is getting a doujin anime by Maikaze? Touhou is probably one of the most popular sources for doujin material and it’s getting another one since the last one kinda sucked. The art is not that amazing, but it’s much better than last time.
There’s so many other artists, chances are if you check out webpages for Japanese illustrators, they’ll have a booth set up at Comiket. You can also find other bloggers writing about ones they like too, such as icie on Hunting the Elusive, which is a great blog if I may add. If you have access to the catalogue and plenty of time, it’d be worth your time to go through it to find ones you like.
