December 2008 Eroge Releases

December 2, 2008 at 12:37 am 15 comments

I’ve been looking forward to this month mainly because of Shin Koihime Musou, but there’s also many other ones that have caught my eye. The most noteworthy is Kimi ga Yobu, Megiddo no Oka de. There’s a lot of good ones this month, so feel free to check them out!

Note: This post contains mature content. All links will be 18+. Some videos are ecchi, but should be relatively clean unless stated otherwise.

Yosuga no Sora

a2print01

Company: スフィア (Sphere)
Game site: ヨスガノソラ
Release date: December 5, 2008
Comments: This is Sphere’s first work. I was most impressed with this OP out of all the games this month. The soft art and gentle song complements each other. The plot seems interesting too. I will probably check this one out.

Oto☆Puri ~Koiseyo! Otome Ouji-sama♪ Dokidoki Wedding Bell~

otopuri

Company: しゃくなげ (Shakunage)
Game site: オト☆プリ~恋せよ!乙女王子様♪ ドキドキウェディングベル~
Release date: December 19, 2008
Comments: This reminds of CaramelBox’s OtoBoku a lot. Hell, even their titles are similar. Here’s a hint about the plot: one of them is a trap. I can’t make myself believe it. Even feminine male leads aren’t that feminine. It seems like it’s just going to be pure comedy.

Dungeon Crusaderz 2 ~Eigou no Rakudo~

dungeon_crusaderz2

Company: アトリエかぐや TEAM HEARTBEAT (Atelier Kaguya)
Game site: ダンジョンクルセイダーズ2~永劫の楽土~
Release date: December 19, 2008
Comments: This is a sequel game by Atelier Kaguya, who specializes in RPG-style eroge. I’m not a huge fan of it, but some of you may like it.

Mystereet ~Other Side of Church~

mystereet

Company: アーベルソフトウェア (Abel Software)
Game site: ミステリート~アザーサイド・オブ・チャーチ~
Release date: December 19, 2008
Comments: You don’t usually come upon mystery/suspense eroge. From a brief glance at the official website, it seems that there’s a supernatural component to it. The art looks a bit off though.

Minna no Uta ~Everyone’s song~

minna_no_uta

Company: めろめろキュート (Meromero Cute)
Game site: ミンナノウタ ~Everyone’s song~
Release date: December 19, 2008
Comments: I wrote about this earlier after seeing it on Dengeki Hime. However, I still haven’t seen anything that stands out to me. The official site is a bit amateurish, but I’ll let it slide since it’s Meromero Cute’s first game. The CG quality is a bit inconsistent.

Mare Mare Mare

maremaremare

Company: mana
Game site: メアメアメア
Release date: December 19, 2008
Comments: What is up with the name….? Well, it’s a game with not one, but TWO succubi, so it’s obvious that there will be H, and lots of it. I like Ruri though. Oh, and the song is cute, even if it’s full of sexual innuendos.

Warning: HCG shown within video.

D.C.II P.C. ~Da Capo II~ Plus Communication

dciipc

Company: CIRCUS
Game site: D.C.II P.C.~ダ・カーポII~プラスコミュニケーション
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: Ok, I admit it. If it is part of the DC franchise, I will play it. I’m a sucker for it. It’s not the best art, the story is pretty cliched, but I can’t stop playing it. DCIIPC is the PC version of DCIIPS which added 6 new heroines, and adds HCG and new CG for all heroines. I’m surprised that Circus made the OP more ecchi than it usually is. Mahiruuuuuuuu <3

MapleColors 2

maplecolors2

Company: ApRicoT
Game site: MapleColors 2 -メイプルカラーズセカンド-
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: To be honest, I didn’t play the original Maple Colors by Crossnet. MapleColors 2 seems to be pretty whacky fun with lots of HCG. Just look at all the characters. The system also looks very interesting with adventure, field movement and mini games. Seem more like a fandisk to me.

Hoshi Uta

hoshiuta

Company: フロントウィング (FrontWing)
Game site: ほしうた
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: The latest installment of the ‘uta’ series by FrontWing. As usual, the art is nice and clean, and so is the OP. I wouldn’t mind trying this out.

Eien no Owari ni

eien_no_owari_ni

Company: たまソフト (TamaSoft)
Game site: 永遠の終わりに
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: While the OP wasn’t that captivating for me, the realistic art is the selling point for this game. It seems more like a slice of life game than relying on exaggerated actions and situations. I love the music on TamaSoft’s website.

Kimi ga Yobu, Megiddo no Oka de

megiddo

Company: Leaf
Game site: 君が呼ぶ、メギドの丘で
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: I am very impressed with what I’ve seen from this game so far. The website is beautiful. The OP is nice and I love the song. The 3D character renderings are pretty good too. I hope that the gameplay is as good as the demo showed. The 3D immediately reminded of Time Leap first (not sure if that’s a good thing), but then the 3D universe made me think of Zelda. It seems to be turn-based for battle situations, or maybe I’m mistaken. Regardless, I’m definitely going to play this.

Shin Koihime†Musou

shin_koihime_musou

Company: BaseSon
Game site: 真・恋姫†無双~乙女繚乱☆三国志演義~
Release date: December 26, 2008
Comments: This is what I’ve been waiting for!!! Building upon the original Koihime Musou, this game doubles the number of characters (and adding a lot of lolis in the process). Now, you can side with any of the factions instead of only Kan’u and the Shu faction. But I’m still going to side with them since Shuri and Tanpopo and Hinari and…. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I agree that Yosuga no Sora looks rather interesting. The story appears to be rather well developed and dramatic. Artwork is quite well done in addition to appearing quite fitting of the style the game appears to represent. If I could I would definately be reading this one.

For my the sake of my fingers I shall refer to the next one as wedding bell. Well.. does seem somewhat funny and the art is good but well… HOLY TRAP!!! The disturbing part is that the protagonist is just as attractive as the heroines. Not too sure I would be interested in a game that makes me question my sexuality.

Dungeon Crusaders I think looks interesting. I do not know much about it but I do like the idea of RPG eroge. While I definately enjoy reading at times I do wish I could influence things in a more active and direct way.

Supernatural mystery component of Mystereet can be pretty interesting if done right. Not really my genere though, add to that the artist appears to be somewhat lacking for this series. The character positions look awkward and the shading is too simple. On another note… WHY ARE THEY STRIPPING?

Minna no uta looks pretty boring to me. Standard fare with a musical twist. Nothing really stands out other than a music related series of relationships, which even if you are a band nerd only counts for so much.

Well I must admit I do have a weakness for succubi (i think it’s the horns wings and eyes) so on that count Mare Mare Mare would seem appealing to me. However they seem to have overdone that one aspect to make it a sort of gimmick appeal. Might be worth it for comedy if nothing else. Really even though they may be succubi… Clothes please.

Not as big a fan as Miru when it comes to DC, but I think this game is probably worth playing and if given the chance I would count this among the games to be played. The opening was done in bad taste though I felt.

The opening shot for the OP of Maple Colors says it all to me. Fanservice game. Seems boring, nothing stands out character or story wise to me.

I think Hoshi Uta is probably better than average but on this list does not seem to be good enough to merit the time with in comparison to the others. Just does not stand out enough in a unique manner.

I found Ein no Owari ni somewhat interesting. Though not really my style I did like the artwork, as it felt more natural with the earthen colors and softer shading. The general air the game gives off feels more slow paced and about the relationships of a group of friends which is not my cup of tea personally. Does appear to be rather well made though and I would consider giving it a shot just for that.

Megiddo looks fun. As stated with dungeon crusaders I do like interaction from time to time and this one appears to do it well. However I feel that the 3d graphics are a bit lacking. That style is overdone and too simplistic in my opinion. The OP kind of bothered me as well. It started out very well, then sort of turned into a typical opening almost immediately. Still I would definately put this on my list of games to play.

Not too much to say about Shin Koihime as it is more of an expansion to an existing game other than I would definately play this one too.

Well that rambling about each and every game helped keep me away from studying for a bit so thanks for giving me an excuse Miru!

    Also… CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE.

    Random responses:
    – He looks MORE attractive than the rest.
    – The cause of the stripping is a mystery.
    – Don’t worry, I’m procrastinating too.
    – Cake is good. I ate it all.

Yeah it is too long.. sorry about that. I was just sooo very into..

    … avoiding work.

I suppose if you gotta be a trap it is best to be the best damn trap you can be!

Good point maybe the mystery aspect is girls randomly stripping all over?

I hereby submit that your cake be investigated as a lie.

    Yay Megiddo! XD

Can’t wait to play that one! It reminds me of Final Fantasy 12 and also Tales of Vesperia too! This is going to be epic.

@Zakarum: Ya, I’m really hyped up about Megiddo since you don’t expect this much visual quality for an eroge (or maybe it’s just cuz I’ve mainly been playing the standard school ADV types…)

I really need to set aside some time for this and Koihime when they come out…

I know, Leaf is really pulling it together in terms of a graphically pleasing game. And they’ve smoothed out the animations in the benchmark compared to the first version. さすがLeaf. Maybe we can expect to see more tech advances in the genre soon ^^

And I had heard of Koihime but never really took a look into it >_> Romance of the Three Kingdoms eh… moe dynasty warriors?

Speaking of visually pleasing, have you seen the FF13 and FF13Versus trailers?
