Bored of Wood Boards
Today was pretty much the same as the past week: stuck in Dunbarton doing part-times and life skills. I managed to reach weaving rank 2 today, as well as handicraft rank A. Extra thanks to Rorec for going through 100 iron ingots to make iron pipes. That alone took over an hour, and I’ll need him to go through another 200 later. He’s going to have nightmares.
Actually, he already got bored of it while making them. He turned into a bot spewing phrases like:
- “I am the bone of my pipe”
- “Steel is my body, and fire is my blood”
- “I have created over 9000 pipes”
I have 98% base on wood boards, so I don’t mind making them when I have the supplies, especially since I can clear out some space in the bank. With a good party, I can get 99% on finest leather straps. I’ve also realized that I can get 80% on tough string on a regular day, although I still won’t risk the chance of failing on such an important item.
Having reached rank A, I started my training by putting on my -dex set and failing paper cranes (72%) for C- and potion concoction kits (64%) for 9AB. I ended up using half a bank tab of nails. It worked really well as I reached my 9AB failure quota before the successes filled up. So I got the rest of the successes from wood boards. After using up all the iron pipes from before, I am now sitting at 37 wood boards with 31 stacks of thick yarn and 9 tough string in bank. Since I need to make 26 Nao costumes, I’m looking at somewhere between 78 and 87 wood boards. I’m going to need about 60 more stacks of thick yarn, as well as 100 more iron pipes or so.
Hence, the plan is to keep on doing Walter’s part-time for finest leathers (I’m almost half done rank 2) and Simon’s part-time for stacks of thick yarn. If I have time, I’ll go shear some sheep to make thick yarn. I also need to convince Rorec to waste 2 more hours or more on iron pipes. Maybe I’ll bribe him with finest leathers.
Oh, and with today’s skill ups, I have reached 200 base dex. Hurray!
