Dream Party Tokyo 2009 Fall

Dream Party (Doripa) Tokyo 2009 Fall took place on October 25th at Tokyo Big Sight. A similar event will be held in Osaka on November 15th. Almost all major eroge companies took part, so almost 3/4 of the event was age restricted ^^;; Anyways, I’ve compiled some pictures from the event. Happy Halloween everyone! Hmm… now that I think about it, why is it happy? Isn’t Halloween supposed to be scary? Zen thinks that it should be called ‘crappy american cosplay day’. Well, whatever floats your boat.

Ita G Festa 2009

The second Ita G Festa was held in Odaiba on October 4th. It is an event to showcase itasha, basically vehicles with anime-related pictures on them. This year there were around 800 itasha. There were the usual anime ones (Lucky Star, Haruhi, K-ON, Bakemonogatari), eroge themed, Vocaloid, Touhou, some seiyuu, as well an ‘umauma’ car too. While I wouldn’t be caught out on the road in one, it never ceases to amaze me how much passion some fans show. I’ve included some pictures, as well links at the bottom of the post for those who want to see more. Enjoy.

Umineko Drawing Contest

Frontier Works and pixiv are holding an illustration contest for Umineko no Naku Koro ni. The event has been running since September 15th and ends on October 14th. So far there have been almost 500 entries. While the event was conceived as a commemorative contest for the anime adaptation, most of the pictures will be referring to events in the game that have not been shown in the anime. For this reason, please proceed knowing that there will be character and event spoilers depicted in the illustrations.

I have selected those that either had amazing art, great ideas or features charas that I liked (Siesta45 and Ange ). Please visit these artists’ pages on pixiv and support their works. To see a full list, check the pixiv event page.

The grand winner will have their illustration featured as the cover art for the Umineko anime image album CD “Rokkenjima In Love”, as well as 50,000 yen. There are many other prizes such as signed posters and DVDs. If you wish to enter, just tag your submission with うみねこイラコン.

Shimapan Drawing Contest

Dengeki Moeou and pixiv are holding a joint drawing contest and the theme is… shimapan (striped panties)! I highly approve! The deadline date for submissions is September 30th and there have been almost 1000 entries so far. The winners will get their illustrations featured in the December and February issues of Dengeki Moeou. The rules are simple: just include shimapan somewhere in your drawing. Additional rules are here. To enter, just upload your drawing to pixiv and tag it with 萌王イラコン.

To me, shimapan will always be associated with imouto and kouhai. Also, it works very well with the lifting of the skirt with that slightly ecchi look. I browsed the entries and bookmarked the ones that I liked the most. Please visit these artists’ pixiv pages and support them! ^^ 縞パン萌えええええー！

First Anniversary

Exactly one year ago, I decided to write about my adventures in Mabinogi. It was a new beginning for me, since I had never blogged before. Back then, I wrote that I was lazy person and that there would only be occasional updates, but in retrospect, maybe I was actually crazy since I ended up writing every day for a whole month. Either way, it’s been one year since Hau~ Omochikaeri~! began and a lot has changed since then.

Comiket 76: At a Glance

Comiket 76 has wrapped up and there’s lots of coverage posts. There were 500,000 visitors over these 3 days. I’ve compiled a bunch of pictures from the event for you from all the coverage posts I’ve read. I’ll be focusing on retailer and eroge company booths, some figures, as well as cosplay. Tanabata

It’s July 7th, which means it’s Tanabata, also known as the ’star festival’. It revolves around the tale of two star-crossed lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi. You can find more information at Wikipedia or by playing Hoshizora no Memoria. I wish that Sevens and Ashita ga Kitto, Haremasu you ni were coming out on this day instead of at the end of the month. It would have made a bigger impression.

It is customary to make a wish on tanzaku on Tanabata. I guess I could make a wish like…

In addition, Tanabata is a popular day for anime and eroge heroines. Today is the birthday for Lucky Star’s Kagami and Tsukasa, Hoshizora no Memoria’s Mare and Marginal Skip’s Kanade! お誕生日おめでとう！

Regarding YouTube Videos

As some of you might know, the majority of the YouTube videos on my site are courtesy of Redinf3rno, who uploads them in HD. Due to some questionable actions from YouTube, his account was been suspended yesterday. You can learn more about it at his blog. I’ve fixed all the broken video links in the reviews and monthly previews. However, it’s really annoying because accounts seem to be constantly suspended for no reason.

Hau~ Omochikaeri~! passed 100k views on May 5th. Thanks everyone who dropped by! The blog has gone through a lot since last September, from Saimoe and Best Moe updates, to Mabinogi patch updates and journal entries, and finally becoming an information site for new eroge releases. Of course, most of the viewership has been from Mabinogi fans. I hope the posts had been helpful to you.

To celebrate the occasion, I decided to actually draw something for the first time in like 2-3 years. The character is Ebihara “Ebi” Minase from YuzuSoft’s Bra-ban! and the pose is from Tenshin Ranman’s OP. I used to use OpenCanvas, but Vista is stupid and doesn’t support it, so this is my first time using Photoshop. I feel so rusty. Also, I had so much fun with the stars ☆☆☆

Mou Gaman Dekinai

Well it would seem that I have become a new author for this blog (Hooray, Cheers, *confetti*).  The basic story in a nutshell is that I will be reviewing games that Micchi would normally not play… or even consider playing. More or less I am here to provide the Yin to her Yang, and provide something for those of us who want a little something more than just highschool romance in our eroge. I will attempt to keep current of the newer releases of titles, backlog I hardly knew ye.

Case in point being the image above. Mayuri from Flyable Heart just happens to be my favorite character and the least favorite character of Micchi. I will go into greater detail if there is a review on FH where I will try to make where we differ more clear by using a game we have both played.

Ah well since there is not too much for me to say other than a basic introduction I will leave off here, Look forward to a wider range of titles being covered in detail.

By the way….  I’m Zen.

This amazing Touhou PV produced by doujin group ToHo Kinema Kan (Touhou Anime Motion Picture Studio) was released at the latest Reitaisai. I really like the depiction of a typical day in Gensokyo. Wonder if they plan to make more?

I’d like to wish everyone a happy Chinese new year! May this year be better than the last! Hopefully the Year of the Ox will lead to a fast global economical recovery. I’ve been busy the past few days cleaning and preparing for the new year, going to events and eating lots of food at gatherings with family and friends. Of course, there’s some red pocket money too ^^ Hope you all have a great time!
