ECO – Stats
July 6, 2009 at 11:11 pm Micchi 8 comments
In ECO, in addition to players’ appearances and skills (from jobs), the assignment of stat points contributes greatly to the development of a character. Depending on the type of character you wish to make, everyone will inevitably have different stat builds. There are 6 main stats: STR, DEX, INT, VIT, AGI, MAG. I will explain what each stat effects, outline the substats and describe status effects as well.
As you level, you get increasingly more points to assign to whichever stats you wish. You will be prompted to verify your assignment before confirming. By manipulating the main stats, you can see how the substats are affected. Note that it is possible to reset stats (at a cost of 1000G x BaseLv). So you don’t have to force yourself to think of stat builds. It’s just that I prefer to analyze mechanics ^^;;
For those who can read Japanese: ECO simulator

- Min = floor[(STR + floor[STR/9]^2)*(1+modifier)]
where modifier = floor[DEX*1.5]/160 for short range
and modifier = floor[INT*1.5]/160 for long range - Max = STR + floor[(STR+14)/5]^2
M.ATK (Magic attack power)
- Min = floor[(MAG + floor[(MAG+9)/8]^2)*(1+modifier)]
where modifier = floor[INT*1.2]/320 - Max = MAG + floor[(MAG+17)/6]^2
S.HIT (Short range accuracy)
- DEX + floor[DEX/10]*11 + LV + 3
L.HIT (Long range accuracy)
- INT + floor[INT/10]*11 + LV + 3
DEF (Defence)

C.SPD (Magic cast speed)
- DEX*3 + floor[(DEX+63)/9]^2 + 129
- Capped at 800

The stat system that allowed for customization was one of the things that made Ragnarok Online great.
Reminds me of the good times, but I really wasn’t planning on playing MMOs again (too time consuming). Might try this out a bit though.

Ya, I loved the customization in RO with all the different stat and skill builds.
I wasn’t planning to play either, but I loved this game when I was playing the JP version. So it’s not ‘playing another MMO’. Wait… does that mean I relapsed? D:

Just a question about the stats. I take it that INT increases minimum ranged damage, but what raises maximum ranged damage?

STR increases max ranged damage.
