Dark Knight Quest

The “Path to Dark Knight” quest is implemented in G3S4. Completion of this quest will enable the option to abandon paladin transformation for dark knight transformation. This is a one-way choice. Once you have decided to become a dark knight, there is no way to reverse your decision. Please consider their differences and make an educated choice.

To complete this quest, you must have completed the G3 mainstream storyline and received the “Dark Knight” keyword.

Update (05/04): With the recent changes, those who have skipped G3 and obtained the “Dark Knight” keyword may also complete this quest. Make sure you have obtained the paladin transformation first. If you skipped G3, all dungeons will be have one more floor.

As with all guides, there will be spoilers ahead. Please do not read further if you wish to complete this on your own.

An owl will deliver a quest to you, along with an event pass. Tarlach has a request for you to go to Ciar dungeon and find a dark knight armor. You will need to solo the dungeon.

Ciar Dark Knight Dungeon (3 or 4 floors)

• Monsters: Bat, Grat town rat, Black spider, Red spider, Mimic, Goblin, Goblin archer, Poison archer, Burgundy sickle laghodessa, Blue ratman
• Boss: Golem, 3 Metal skeleton

After completing the dungeon, you will receive a piece of a dark knight armor. Bring this to Tarlach in Sidhe Sneachta and it will become the 1st piece of the dark knight armor (2×2 inv space). You will receive a new keyword about the armor pieces. Note that these armor pieces will stay in your inventory until you are completed the quest.

Shortly after this, an owl will bring you a quest to collect all the pieces for the dark knight armor. First, talk to Piaras in Tir Chonaill inn using the keyword you received from Tarlach. You will receive a book about Dark Knights and the armor that they wear. Please read this thoroughly. You will now receive a new keyword about the cursed armor. Head to Alby arena lobby and talk to Goro using this keyword. He will give you the 2nd piece of the dark knight armor (2×1 inv space).

After receiving another quest from an owl to find the 3rd piece, talk to Seumas at the Dragon Ruins in Gairech. He will give you a fossil (2×1 inv space), which you need to bring to Stewart. He will give you a potion (2×1 inv space) to restore the fossil. Bring this to Lassar in Tir Chonaill magic school. She will want 3 mana herbs. Once you bring them, she will give you the 3rd piece of the dark knight armor (2×1 inv space) and the quest will be completed.

Now you will need to head to Rabbie dungeon solo to find a dark medal. This is similar to Rabbie normal dungeon.

Rabbie Dungeon (3 or 4 floors)

• Monsters: Bat, Gray town rat, Mimic, Skeleton wolf, Skeleton, Red skeleton, Metal skeleton
• Boss: Black succubus

The black succubus will drop a dark fomor most of the time. If she doesn’t, you’ll have to do it again. Bring it to Kristell at Dunbarton church. Then you will need to get a Spirit’s Tear from an ego weapon. If you do not have an ego weapon, you can ask a friend for one or buy one from a player shop. Talk to Kristell again and she will give you the 4th piece of the dark knight armor (1×1 inv space) and a fomor pass to Albey dungeon. You will receive a new keyword for the Albey pass in case you need another one.

You will now need to run Albey dungeon solo in Tir Na Nog. You may either use an Albey wing or go there on Saturday. Note that you will need to come back here later in the quest.

Albey Dark Knight Dungeon (2 or 3 floors)

• Monsters: Meek bat, Vampire bat, Country rat, Black town rat, Black spider, King mimic, Brown snake, Blue snake, White snake, Goblin, Goblin archer, Ratman, Sickle laghodessa, Spiked laghodessa, Werewolf, Flying sword
• Boss: 3 Light gargoyle

When you beat the boss, the 4 pieces of the dark knight armor will become one (2×2 inv space). You will also receive a DK protection charm as well a keyword with the same name. You will then be forcibly moved to Tir Chonaill.

The protection charm is a roleplay (RP) item for a dungeon. You can skip directly to Ruairi’s Barri RP if you wish. However, it is advised to complete the next part to make the dark knight armor to disappear from your inventory first.

Head to Tarlach and talk to him regarding the armor. Shortly after, an owl will deliver you a quest to get rid of the armor. Talk to Duncan at Tir Chonaill town square. You will receive a blue lightning feather. Entering Dunbarton library with this in your inventory will show you a cutscene. Afterwards, talk to Meven inside Tir Chonaill church and he will give you a potion. Talk to Tarlach again and the armor will disappear.

For Ruairi’s Barri RP, drop the DK protection charm on the altar in Barri lobby.

Barri Ruairi RP Dungeon (3 floors)

• Boss: 5 Ogre warrior
• Similar to Barri basic.
• You can turn into a DK as many times as you like.
• If you lose the pass, you can get another from Gilmore.

Completion of the RP will reward you with a keyword on where the black wizard resides. Go back to TNN and talk to Dougal. He will give you a pass to Albey. Enter Albey dungeon using this pass. You will not need to fight any monsters in this 1-floor dungeon. Talk to the black wizard. He will ask you if you wish to become a dark knight. He will also take the dark knight armor if you skipped the Duncan side-story before doing Ruairi’s RP.

If you choose to become a dark knight, you will be moved to Tir Chonaill. Otherwise, you will be left inside the dungeon. You may choose to come back at any time if you change your mind.
